For our Module 9 Virtual Showcase, you will develop a 10-15 minute narrated slideshow for your final Country Presentation.
Imagine you are a tour guide and your job is to provide your classmates (i.e., tourists) with a virtual tour of your country. The tour should provide an informative, insightful overview of the culture of your country. Carefully read through the Content, Research, Slideshow, and Narration sections to do your best work on this project.
Content
Your presentations content should include all of the following:
Name of the country and brief explanation of how and when this name came to be
Overview of countrys location in the world and key geographic features of the country
Explore how culture influences and is influenced by the 7 dimensions covered in our course. Using your previous Research and Share assignments, summarize your countrys culture in all of the following areas:
Politics
Food
Art
Religion
Language and Dialect
Music and Dance
Technology
Consider three additional, new dimensions of culture to share with us about your country. These three areas should not be previously discussed in your prior Research and Share assignments.
Research
Throughout your presentation, you should verbally cite your sources to indicate where you found the information about your country. While you may verbally cite as many sources as necessary to show attribution, at least 5 sources are required for the Country Presentation. You may repeat sources from your prior Research and Share assignments. Your slideshow should end with a References slide in APA format.
Slideshow
You should support your presentations content with a slideshow. Your slideshow should be as visually-driven as possible, using large and clear images with minimal text. Think about your slides as an opportunity to show your audience (i.e., the tourists) large and clear images that allow us to see what you are saying about your country and its rich, vibrant culture. After adding that large, clear image to each slide, consider a single word or short phrase to summarize the key points as the only text on your slide.
While not required, you may also use video and audio in your narrated slideshow presentation. Video and audio clips should not exceed 1 minute total when all combined together. Your slideshow should end with a References slide in APA format.
You may use any presentation tool to create your slideshow PowerPoint®, Keynote®, Google Slides®, iMovie®, etc. but remember that you will need to record your voice speaking over your slides.
Narration
You will deliver the content and research of your presentation by recording your voice speaking over your slideshow. Remember that your final presentation should be 10-15 minutes with your voice speaking throughout. While you are permitted to include video and/or audio clips in your slideshow, when added together, those multimedia clips should not exceed 1 minute.
